Blushing Black Beauty: truBLEND Liquid Foundation Review

LET'S GET TO IT!

Pros

1. This foundation is moisturizing. - I have dry skin and having a foundation that dries out leaves my skin with dry patches on it. 
2. It doesn't oxidize after mixing with the oil from my morning skin routine - I don't end up with skin 2-3 shades darker than my face because I decided I wanted the dewy look. 
3. The PRICE - It was cheap as hell. One of the cheapest drugstore foundations with my skin tone!
4. The undertones - I was able to find a yellow undertoned one for winter and a more orangey undertone for the summer. 

Cons

1. It only wears for a few hours - By the end of the day, I have less of it on than I put on my face in the morning.

Overall I really liked this foundation. It was easy to find my shade and the undertones didn't leave a greycast on my face. This was good because often my skin tone gets the pink undertone and that makes me look a little ghosty to be honest.

My shades are d2 (winter) and d4 (summer).

BBG watches: Bones, Season 1

After 22 episodes in 36 hours, I'm gonna say overall I liked it, but there were a few major problems. These don't take away my overall interest in the show's basis.

Characters

The main character is interesting and at the same time dull. She's one of the many of this annoying breed of sociopath/detective/scientist type of character that is really pretty annoying to me. She contantly mentions IQ and expressly states she is better than others and that some deserve to die. This character is the meaning of the word trite. She has an offbeat name, a sad family history, a overindulgent knowledge of "exotic" cultures, and NO FUCKING EMOTIONS, except for when it comes to the people from these exotic cultures. [WHITE SAVIOR ALERT]

tl;dr Temperance Brennan is female sherlock.

The second main (and love interest you can see coming from seasons away) is a little more interesting, but by almost nothing. He's a bad cop with a hard past and a story you can literally see through. He's traumatized by his past in the war. He's got a kid from an unwed mother who he has hardly any custody over. He's brooding. 

tl;dr Seely Booth is far too silly to be watson and trusts his gut far too much. 

The side characters are however wayyyy more interesting, but as you will see will not get a subplot until the seond season...

They're interesting because of the consistency. They don't change for plot. 

Plot

The main is a forensic anthropologist (an anthropologist who works to solve murders)  and apparently because this is a rare field, she thinks herself better than others. She gets called in to work with the FBI more consistently than she used to and now she becomes a field agent... kind of.

Meh.

You know that feeling you get when you go into a store and that thing you went there for was a little or a lot more expensive than you hoped it would be? And the way you feel on your way out? Or how you feel if you did end up buying it and it hurt to pass your card over to the cashier?

Sign up for eBay and abandon these feelings for good. eBay is like a candy shop where all the candy is for super cheap and is still indeed the candy you were looking for and not a knockoff or even a "dupe". Basically what I'm trying to say is, eBay is where it's at. The place to be. You don't even understand. It's amazing.

eBay is the magical place where you can get high end products for half the retail price and maybe even less.

I mostly use eBay for buying make up and clothing, but every once in a while I buy some other essential or gift for someone else from that site.

I've gotten both discounted high end and drugstore items from this website as well as lots from some makeup brands like hard candy and revlon.I'm a bit of an over active buyer so if you're like me, this website is a great choice for not spending too much. Budgeting is something I have to work on personally, but this website makes it a whole lot easier.

BBG's Take On: L'Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara

I feel like I may have given into the hype here, but I'm just gonna say, it was worth it. I love this mascara (and the bendy wand).  What have people got against this bendy wand anyways. To be honest, it only aids in application and keeps the wand further away from the roots of my lashes which I scrape quite often with stiffer wands.

The first thing I have to say about this mascara is that I got it in the color "Black Brown" accidentally and it still made my lashes pop. It added alot of volume and alot of length. I was very impressed. I felt like I looked angelic and the color looked gorgeous in brown. It is one of the most glamourous mascaras I own and costed only around $6. I am in love.

The only think I'm not so in love with is how clumpy it can get. I hate clumpy lashes... and crunchy lashes and that's something else that this mascara can be... However it looks good enough most of the time that I like it.

Pros:

1. Gives alot of volume and length. 
2. The formula isn't too dry. 
3. The packaging is cute.
4. The bendy brush makes application easier.

Cons:

1. It can get clumpy. You need to take great care to make sure it isn't.
2. It dries slowly, so you may smudge a bit if you blink while it's drying.
3. Your lashes can be a little crunchy.

BBG's Take On: Menstrual Cups

Menstrual Cups are an alternative form of period protection for your pants and undies. As it says in the name, it is a cup. It is a small, but somehow very big cup, in both subject matter and size. The reason I say this has to do with the insertion... Unlike a tampon, the way in is HUGE. Friggin large. Like innapro-pro large. Like it might hurt. In fact, it did hurt the first time I inserted it. It went in though and that's all that matters (is also what she said).

Anyways.... The cup is basically a cup that holds menstrual fluid. Menstrual Fluid like blood. So you fold it up and push it up there and VOILA! You have long lasting period protection... Kind of... You kind of have period protection. Like you should, but you may not if you don't know what you're doing which I don't think I did and yeah, but I definitely will use it again and hopefully with more accuracy than the first time.

Another thing I should mention is that I have a heavy flow on the second and third days of my period and it was hellish my first time on those days. WEAR A PAD on your heavy days the first few times. I assumed it would hold on my heavy days too and it held for a considerably shorter time and forced me to wear pantiliners and biker shorts for extra protection. However this was not the fault of the menstrual cup but my own fault because like tampons they will leak at their capacity and you will have a situation. 

The Pros: 

1. You can use it for WAY LONGER than a tampon!
1. EXCEPT on heavy flow days. Leave it in for the amount of time you would a tampon on heavy days or the blood will overflow. 
2. Less dangeous chemicals INSIDE your vagina.
3. Less dryness 
1. Taking it out on the last day of your period is smooth as butter. If vaginas made butter, that is.

The Cons:

1. Messy 
1. You may encounter a bloody mess on your first time using it because it was in incorrectly or because you left it in for too long. 
2. Requires you to be more comfortable with your body 
1. This one is a tricky one. It can be hard to decide whether you are comfortable with your own vagina or not, but I wouldn't reccomend this for someone who does not use tampons, thinks vaginas are dirty and need to be cleaned with "feminine wash" or douching, or generally has no idea about the anatomy of their vagina.

TL;DR

I love it, but it is something you have to wrap your head around and it will help you in the long run.
